Fun Fact:
I’ve been studying music theory, guitar, and bass guitar for over five years, and I absolutely love it. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new!
Why did you go into Aquatics instruction?
I learned to swim, and to teach others, under the guidance of Bonnie Brown and her team at Syracuse Parks and Rec during my childhood and teenage years. Their dedication was truly exemplary.
I swam competitively in college and briefly with the BUMS after moving to Broome County, and later coached a local varsity boys’ and girls’ swim team for over a decade. I also worked at several colleges and universities during the summers, gaining valuable insights from collegiate athletes and coaches.
Though I took a break to focus on family, the outdoors, and music, chlorine has always remained in my blood. I still swim several times a week, and my goal is to help every swimmer develop the confidence and skills to enjoy the water for life.
