Fun Fact:
I also coach the rowing team for Binghamton University in the early mornings. When I was in college, I was the coxswain on the team. This is the crewmember who sits stationary in the boat facing the bow. While the coxswain’s main job is to steer the shell with a tiny rudder, they also call the race strategy, and help motivate the crew!
Why did you go into Aquatics instruction?
I have always loved being in and around pools and lakes. I became a lifeguard when I was 16 and have since worked in aquatics. Soon after, I started teaching swim lessons and water fitness classes and have been teaching both for over 15 years! I have a passion for helping others and swimming. I am happy I can combine these passions by teaching others to be safe in and around the water and learn a skill they can enjoy for life. I enjoy helping people overcome their fears, find confidence, and achieve their goals!
