I have not exercised or worked out in a very long time, and now that I’m older, I could feel that I wasn’t as steady on my feet and unable to pick up and carry heavier items as I used to. I was also very nervous about joining a gym to work out. I met with Anthony and explained that I needed to improve my strength and balance. Anthony put me right at ease, and we agreed on a plan.
A couple of months later, I was moving some bulky outdoor items into my basement. I live in an old farmhouse, and the access to the basement is narrow and steep. I have dreaded doing this for the last few years and generally put it off as long as possible. As I was carrying my two batteries for my boat down the stairs, I noticed that after I got there, I didn’t stop or have to set them down as I went down the stairs.
So, as I continued to bring down the other items, I didn’t have to drag them down for fear of falling or becoming out of breath, and I was like, “OMG, what Anthony has me doing is working.” I couldn’t wait to tell him about it. Without him helping me start working out again and doing it properly, I would never have gotten to where I am today. I still have a long way to go, but I feel confident Anthony will get me there.
