We offer a medically supervised program. We use a coordinated approach to improve overall health and wellness by focusing on strengthening, mobility, and corrective exercises. Whether recovering from injury or looking to improve performance on the field or court, the Lourdes Sports and Physical Performance Program progresses individuals towards meeting the demands of their physical goals.

Lourdes Sports and Physical Performance Program is currently located at 65 Pennsylvania Ave on the Southside of Binghamton next to Lourdes Orthopedics. The Sports Performance Center will relocate to the Oakdale Commons in the fall of 2022.

Why our athletes succeed – Methodology.

The key to improved performance in sports is MOVEMENT, specifically how you accelerate, decelerate and change directions. Our training METHODOLOGY is defined as movement based training which focuses on performance enhancement and injury reduction. This methodology is organized into a training SYSTEM which identifies an athlete’s strengths, weaknesses, imbalances and needs, and addresses them in order to improve the athlete’s ability to move. This is accomplished by training all of the aspects relevant to improving movement in every session i.e. Speed and Agility, Strength and Power, Mobility and Flexibility, Neuromuscular Coordination and Conditioning.

Our Sports Performance Program offers individuals and teams the opportunity to improve skills and score their biggest win. All areas of athleticism are advanced, including: speed, agility, strength, endurance, and conditioning. Injury prevention techniques are the focus throughout. Scheduling is athlete specific and each workout is customized to build off of the one prior.

College Level Program

Sports Performance training for college level athletes who are back from break and don’t want to lose their edge or are focused on preparation for the next season. This is the highest level group session.

Performance Athlete Program

This program is focused on preparing all age athletes for the next level of competition. Speed, strength and power are essential components of a well rounded athlete. This program helps prepare the athlete to build sports specific skills off of a solid foundation, limiting the chance for injury and promoting the highest performance.

Lourdes Health & Fitness - Team Training

Team training

Lourdes Sports and Physical Performance welcomes teams to join in group sessions. Competitive travel teams and club sports can train together and work on developing key components required for success in their specific sport. The team training program allows for specific attention to form and quick progression through exercises while still maintaining the energy, fun, and social environment necessary for team building.

Physical Performance Program

Physical Performance is for individuals of any age who are recovering from an injury (chronic or acute). A customized program is developed to cater to the specific injury and the goals of the client. The program evolves as the client progresses through their rehab, where each workout design builds off the previous session until the desired level of function is achieved.

Stephen Reyes LAT, ATC, CES

Sports and Physical Performance Program Coordinator

Stephen has been a Certified Athletic Trainer working in the sports performance world for the last 9 years. He has earned National Academy of Sports Medicine’s (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialization. He graduated Alfred University in 2013 where he played Strong Safety on their Football team. Stephen’s interest in improving physical performance comes from his personal experience in athletics at a competitive level and his professional experience as a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer. He believes in creating a strong foundation to build off of to decrease the chance for injury while competing which starts with proper mechanics and movement patterns.
