Why did you go into Personal Training?
I have always been passionate about fitness, health, wellness, and human anatomy. In college, I majored in Exercise Science and decided to go into Personal Training, so I could feel fulfilled at the end of each work day by doing a career that keeps me intrigued and excited every day. My favorite part of my career is seeing my clients reach their goals and take hold of their life once again.

“My ultimate goal for everyone I meet is to get them to their goals.”

I am truly thankful for Josh’s positive influence on my life.

I read about the opening of Lourdes Health and Fitness, specifically noting the focus on medical integration with wellness. My physical challenges and chronic back pain precluded active exercise, even just walking. My husband of forty-five years had recently passed away. Although I had a new grandson, born three months after my husband’s death, I was seriously depressed.

Amber, the nurse who performed my initial assessment, was very intuitive. At the end of our session, she called to ask if Josh was on-site. She introduced us, and I had an appointment with my Personal Trainer within minutes.

Ashamed of where I was physically and emotionally, I did not enjoy the initial interview. We established very basic goals: improved balance, decreased pain, and increased endurance to keep up with my grandson, who was just starting to walk. My performance during the physical assessment certainly demonstrated a need for improvement.

Flash forward eighteen months. My balance, strength, and endurance have improved, and my emotional well-being has drastically improved. Josh has the happiest, most effervescent personality of anyone I have known. He is an incredibly knowledgeable and observant trainer. I appreciate his listening to my dislikes of specific equipment or exercises and making modifications to appease me while still attaining my goals. He is able to correct my form, posture, and performance with well-chosen words or a demonstration that is never critical. I have even caught him increasing equipment weight while I was distracted, albeit with a wink and a smile.

I sincerely look forward to my appointments. Were it not for Josh, I would have stopped exercising months ago.

Thank you, Amber, for selecting Josh to be my Personal Trainer.

Thank you, Josh, for caring.

I have had numerous trainers in my life at different gyms; I am very well-versed in training. I met Josh for one of the free training sessions and was certain that there was nothing he could teach me. Well, I will tell you this, he kicked my butt. I could not believe how much this know-it-all learned from him in one short hour! I highly recommend Josh!!!

I started out never having been to a gym, so I knew almost nothing other than my target weight goal. Thanks to Josh’s help, I met that goal and passed it three more times. And I’m still going!

I’ve lost 70 pounds since I started working with Josh over 15 months ago. He’s given me the motivation to keep going. I didn’t want to let him down after all his hard work helping me out. He’s been a good friend and ally in my efforts, and I just can’t thank him enough.

When I first met Josh, I was in pretty bad shape. At 50, I was overweight, had diabetes, a history of blood clots, and the left side of my heart was not working. I had zero stamina, and even mowing the lawn was challenging. I had tried different gyms and trainers, but it never worked for me. I would lose motivation pretty much right away and would stop going.

I started working with Josh, and he developed a plan to get me in overall shape. And then, when I could do more, he changed my plan to focus on strengthening my whole body. I’m unsure how he did it, but I started progressing quickly. He is a fantastic trainer! He keeps me motivated and makes our sessions fun. I always look forward to the days when I meet with him; his energy is always positive, and even if I’m having a bad day, I always leave our sessions feeling great. He pushes me to keep improving but is aware that some days my body can’t give 100% and changes my workout plan to still give me a good workout without causing issues. These days were frequent at the start but have disappeared as we have progressed.

After six months with Josh, my doctor discontinued my diabetes medications because I no longer need them. I feel fabulous and more confident about myself. My heart is also in excellent shape. My doctor was incredibly impressed with how well I’ve been doing and plans to discontinue my blood thinners because he feels I no longer need them. There is no way that I could have made this kind of progress without Josh helping me.
