Lisa’s Success Stories

I began training with Lisa in mid-April, and from the start, she took the time to understand my health history, goals, and challenges. In just five months, I’ve gained muscle mass, increased strength and balance, and lost visceral fat. Lisa shares her expertise in training and nutrition while keeping a close eye on my form, posture, and energy. She provides firm guidance with genuine care, and I highly recommend her to anyone at any fitness level. Lisa is truly an inspiration and an asset to the Lourdes Fitness team.

Some time ago, I underwent extensive spinal surgery to correct progressive degenerative scoliosis. The following 18 months were very challenging for me to recover my mobility and independence, even though I attended physical therapy weekly as ordered by my surgeon. I could only walk with assistance from a walker or cane, and then I could not do it for a long time. Before my surgery, I could walk at least 5 miles a day, stairs were no problem, and standing/kneeling from a sitting position, although challenging, was not improbable.

I heard about the center from several friends and neighbors and decided to look into the programs they offered. Although I was very skeptical, I decided to try.

Then, in June of 2024, I met with Lisa, and my world of limited independence changed. Because of Lisa’s empathetic and intuitive personality, the creative exercise program challenges me to reach higher goals; I no longer walk with a cane or walker. I can navigate stairs much better, walk longer distances, and work in my garden. When I first met Lisa, I shared my goals with her, and she helped make them a reality. Lisa is a great trainer and a fantastic listener and can incorporate my ideas into my physical workouts, showing me ways to attain the goals I want. Because I’m over the age of consent (79 years young and still going), I was told that my development would be limited. However, with Lisa’s extensive knowledge in training the whole body, I could surpass my expectations, and more importantly, she gave me the confidence to exceed. So, THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU, Lisa, for all you do, you are the best.

I chose Lisa as my trainer specifically because of her focus on women’s health during menopause. Having recently entered the early stages of menopause, I was struggling to understand and adapt to the changes in my body, including a sudden 20-pound weight gain. While it’s easy to find information online about menopause, societal norms often discourage open conversations about this important time in a woman’s life.

Since working with Lisa, I’ve lost inches off my waist and can wear jeans I haven’t fit into in years. More importantly, I’ve learned that my body’s changes are completely normal. It’s refreshing to have a trainer who has gone through this journey herself and validates my experiences. Lisa has not only helped me restore my body confidence, but she’s also tailored my workouts to continually challenge me.

She strikes the perfect balance between being firm and fun, while also being a skilled listener. I highly recommend Lisa as a trainer, especially for women navigating the challenges of menopause.

I began working with Lisa in May 2024, six months after my total knee replacement. It was time to take my fitness journey seriously, learn how to build strength, continue my recovery, and hopefully delay surgery on my other knee.

Lisa has been thorough, understanding, and attentive to my concerns about resuming physical activity after major orthopedic surgery. She combines the roles of trainer, cheerleader, and educator, knowing when to push me and when to modify exercises based on my readiness.

In the past four months, I’ve gained strength and confidence, lost weight, and achieved things I never thought possible. Best of all, I no longer experience knee pain! I genuinely look forward to my sessions with Lisa. She’s also helped me focus on nutrition to enhance my overall health and success in the gym.

My experience with Lisa and the center has been life-changing. Thank you!

Lisa has made a tremendous difference in my life. My shoulders and legs are getting stronger. I have more range of motion and less pain in my knees. I can walk up and down stairs with more stability. It’s all due to Lisa. She has gently but consistently motivated me to try new things, challenge my body to stretch that extra inch, and do a few more exercises. I thank her so much for that. She is a dedicated, passionate, and kind person who knows what I need to do to strengthen my weak muscles. I can’t recommend Lisa more highly– she is wonderful. I am so happy to be working with her to get healthier. Thank you, Lisa!!

I have been working with Lisa for approximately three months now. She pushes me when needed, yet encourages me at the same time. I can feel my upper body strength increasing, as well as my lower body strength. Thank you, Lisa, for all that you’ve shown me!

Lisa helped improve my physical life so much! I had back and leg pain whenever I walked very far, and now I no longer have that problem. My back and legs are stronger. My posture is better. My upper body is strong enough to lift and carry things I could not manage before easily. Lisa listens to how I feel and encourages me to improve in a supportive and understanding way. Training with her is a wonderful part of my life!
